You too can speak like a pro, and we'll show you how!

Think of your Toastmasters club as a communications laboratory, a forum for experimentation, a friendly place where it's OK to make mistakes -- in short, a workshop to polish your personal style. Toastmasters is dedicated to helping you overcome your fear of public speaking, so why fumble around in the dark with your self-image?

Every Toastmaster knows that your fears and nervousness are magnified much more when you speak before an audience -- precisely the training you need to break down the barriers to reaching new friends and business prospects one-on-one, making you more at ease with yourself.

For professionals on the fast track, Toastmasters is the secret oil that keeps your engine running smoothly, a crucial pit stop in your business life. Warner Center Toastmasters has been enhancing careers and enriching interpersonal communications for our members for over twenty-five years. Why leave great speaking skills to politicians and captains of industry? You too can speak like a pro, and we'll show you how.

If  this sounds good to you, then come join us every two weeks for a light buffet and some great speakers at the Warner Marriott Hotel in Woodland Hills. The Marriott provides a wide variety of excellent meeting rooms for the largest, most active Toastmasters club in greater Los Angeles.

marriott hotelIt all comes together in a clearly defined and well-supported program of speeches and exercises that help you to sharpen your verbal skills, organize your words and gestures, and make you fast on your feet. Lose your fear of speaking in front of a large group, and you'll feel more confident speaking to anybody!

The Warner Marriott is located at 21850 Oxnard Street at the corner of Topanga. From Santa Clarita to Calabasas, Santa Monica to Chatsworth, we have active members from all over the area.

We DO meet every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month without fail (except Xmas and Thanksgiving). Greeting begins at 630pm, meeting/program begins promptly at 7pm. Meeting concludes approximately 9pm. Guest fee: five dollars. (To avoid high hotel parking fees, may we suggest you park on the side street behind the hotel or in the Promenade Mall across Oxnard.) This site is updated twice a month with forthcoming meeting details, so check back often.  For details, please contact:

Fellow Toastmasters ~

Even as students around the world prepare to graduate, we too at Toastmasters prepare to end our speaking season with a flourish, as club members move on to higher levels of achievement. The coming winnerzmonth represents an opportunity to complete whatever speech manual you are mastering. In doing so, you can help WCTM achieve President's Distinguished Club Status when we submit our results for the year that closes out in June.

To help with this task, Chris Babson hosted another SpeakUp program last week, whose participants included Clifton, Chris, Loan, Loga, Art, Rose, John Murray, Jojo Nall (as Toastmaster), and Chanti.

Our best wishes go out to Randy Nall, Jojo's husband, who is recovering from his May 10 hip surgery.

Warner Center Toastmasters' last meeting on April 22 was curiously festive, with a lively and laugh-filled audience enjoying a thoughtful question and answer session conducted by novice topicmaster Bob Kleiman. Carolyn Goldman graced the lectern with her warm and perceptive presence as Toastmaster, and we enjoyed a stern and stirring talk about lectern protocol from Club Founder Rose Lane.

We invite you to join us this Thursday when President Eleonor will be Toastmaster, Treasurer Carol Steffen will probe the audience with her questions as topicmaster, and Dalia Gomez will take the reins as General Evaluator for the first time. We look forward to having you on board!
