Reflections of Our "Wonder Years"

Imagine: Twenty-five years! And now, our 25th Anniversary Celebration!  It doesn't seem possible. Where did all those years go?

For all of us, it's been an extraordinary journey. However brief or long, members will tell you that their Toastmasters experience has been incredibly helpful, in compelling ways. Looking back, these have been the "wonder years" for so many members who came, for those who left, and for those who (fortunately for us) have continued.

Yes. Warner Center Toastmasters has been my passion throughout these many years, for good reason. Fellow members will agree, there's nothing more exciting and rewarding than watching the phenomenal accomplishments of other members. For us, the greatest gift of all is having had the opportunity to influence their continual growth.

As Warner Center Toastmasters has been my "special baby", it's my fervent hope that there will be those members today who will take up the gauntlet of our club by accepting the challenges of another 25 years (at the very least), with the successful growth we've all enjoyed.

Congratulations to every one of our members who, through these "wonder years" with their personal efforts and team spirit, have helped to make possible our 25th Anniversary Celebration.

Have a Most Joyous Easter Holiday!

Speak to Your Success!

Dear Warner Center Toastmasters:

Astronomy compels the soul to look upwards and leads us from this world to another   Plato

New worlds of opportunity await you.  Please join us at our next meeting on Thursday, March 27, when our theme will be “astronomy.”  Journey beyond your comfort zone and discover the “star talent” that lies within you!

Reminder:  Our membership dues are due this month.  Thank you to those of you who have already renewed your membership.  You realize the importance of continuing the development of your communication and leadership skills.  If you have not renewed, please mail your renewal to:  Rose Lane, 2960 Shadow Brook Lane, Westlake Village, CA  91361 or bring your check to the next meeting.  Dues are $155 for the period April through September and include Toastmaster International dues, Warner Center club dues and buffet fees for our meetings.  Please make your check payable to Warner Center Toastmasters.

Our 25th Anniversary celebration on March 13th was a smashing success!  We began with a champagne toast and then enjoyed the some very humorous Rose Roasts from our talented members –Shelly, Chick, Ken, Loan, Eva and John. Thank you to Audrey Forte for stepping in at the very last minute and running a terrific Table Topics session.  Although we had a very full house – 54 guests and members in attendance – everyone had an opportunity to speak, even if it was just to say one word about Toastmasters!

At Warner Center Toastmasters we are here to help you succeed.  Enjoy the supportive, creative and friendly environment.  Come find your voice, come find your message and come find your speaking success!

Improve your confidence when speaking in front of people!

Toastmasters is dedicated to helping you overcome your fear of public speaking, so why fumble around in the dark with your self-image? Think of your Toastmasters club as a  communications laboratory, a forum for experimentation, a friendly place where it's OK to make mistakes -- in short, a workshop to polish your personal style.

If  this sounds good to you, then come join us for a light buffet and some great speakers at the Warner Marriott Hotel in Woodland Hills. Currently the most popular Toastmasters meeting location in greater Los Angeles, WCTM at the Marriott provides a wide variety of excellent meeting  rooms for one of Los Angeles' finest and largest Toastmasters groups.

Warner Center Toastmasters has been enhancing careers and enriching interpersonal communications for our members for twenty-five years. Why leave great speaking skills to politicians and captains of industry? You too can speak like a pro, and we'll show you how.

It all comes together in a clearly defined and well-supported program of speeches and exercises that help you to sharpen your verbal skills, organize your words and gestures, and make you fast on your feet. Lose your fear of speaking in front of a large group, and you'll feel more confident speaking to anybody!

The Warner Marriott is located at 21850 Oxnard Street at the corner of Topanga. From Santa Clarita to Calabasas, Santa Monica to Chatsworth, we have active members from all over the area.

We DO meet every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month without fail (except Xmas). Meeting begins at 630pm, gavel at 7pm. Meeting concludes approximately 9pm. Guest fee: five dollars.  This site is updated twice a month with forthcoming meeting details, so check back often.  For details, please contact:
