"Sayings"

You too can speak like a pro, and we'll show you how!

Toastmasters is dedicated to helping you overcome your fear of public speaking, so why fumble around in the dark with your self-image? Think of your Toastmasters club as a communications laboratory, a forum for experimentation, a friendly place where it's OK to make mistakes -- in short, a workshop to polish your personal style.

Every Toastmaster knows that your fears and nervousness are magnified much more when you speak before an audience-- exactly the training you need to break down the barriers to reaching new friends and business prospects one-on-one, making you more at ease with yourself.

If  this sounds good to you, then come join us every two weeks for a light buffet and some great speakers at the Warner Marriott Hotel in Woodland Hills. The Marriott provides a wide variety of excellent meeting rooms for the largest, most active
Toastmasters club in greater Los Angeles.

For professionals on the fast track, Toastmasters is the secret oil that keeps your engine running smoothly, a crucial pit stop in your business life. Warner Center Toastmasters has been enhancing careers and enriching interpersonal communications for our members for over twenty-five years. Why leave great speaking skills to politicians and captains of industry? You too can speak like a pro, and we'll show you how.

marriott hotelIt all comes together in a clearly defined and well-supported program of speeches and exercises that help you to sharpen your verbal skills, organize your words and gestures, and make you fast on your feet. Lose your fear of speaking in front of a large group, and you'll feel more confident speaking to anybody!

The Warner Marriott is located at 21850 Oxnard Street at the corner of Topanga. From Santa Clarita to Calabasas, Santa Monica to Chatsworth, we have active members from all over the area.

We DO meet every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month without fail (except Xmas and Thanksgiving). Greeting begins at 630pm, meeting/program begins promptly at 7pm. Meeting concludes approximately 9pm. Guest fee: five dollars. (To avoid high hotel parking fees, may we suggest you park on the side street behind the hotel or in the Promenade Mall across Oxnard.) This site is updated twice a month with forthcoming meeting details, so check back often.  For details, please contact:

Fellow Toastmasters ~

We here at Toaster's Choice would like to express our appreciation for the expert teamwork of President Eleonor Arellano, Vice President Audrey Forte, and our other team members in putting together WCTM's 27th Anniversary Gala. We saw well over fifty fun-loving members, former members and guests toasting with champagne in a Hawaiian atmosphere. President Eleonor provided hula dancing, wincompspecial cake came from Arnold Arch, and the effusive warmth of our speakers and evaluators provided a richly rewarding evening.

Venerable past members who dropped in on us included Maya DeBus (charter member), Dave DeFore, Harvey Youngman, Kathy Youngman, Don West, and Ken Slusser (charter member).

A sensational bouquet of roses was presented to founder Rose Lane, the bedrock of WCTM for 27 years. "When Gary Moore and I founded the club back in March 1983, little did I suspect we'd still be going strong 27 years later," Rose remarked. "Because it was a shaky start at first -- Gary started the club with me and within a year left me stranded." Fortunately, Rose had a strong background in speaking in her capacity as a top real estate troubleshooter here in the Valley.

As one of the original 9 DTM's in the Toastmasters organization, Rose Lane is also a founding member of Calabasas Toastmasters. And she's helping to spawn other DTMs and leaders, including Carolyn Goldman, who will acquire her DTM designation in a matter of weeks.

We invite you to be a part of our next experiment in extroversion when Toastmaster John Graves, General Evaluator Carolyn Goldman, and Topicmistress Rose Lane engage your brain at our Thursday meeting. We've got five hot speakers on the program, ready to deliver their finest offerings of language, thought, and personality. Be there -- this THURSDAY!!!

yours
