Editor: John C Graves     Next Meeting: Thursday April 8, 2010
 Guests Welcomed Theme: "Spring Time"

You too can speak like a pro, and we'll show you how!

Toastmasters is dedicated to helping you overcome your fear of public speaking, so why fumble around in the dark with your self-image? Think of your Toastmasters club as a communications laboratory, a forum for experimentation, a friendly place where it's OK to make mistakes -- in short, a workshop to polish your personal style.

Every Toastmaster knows that your fears and nervousness are magnified much more when you speak before an audience-- exactly the training you need to break down the barriers to reaching new friends and business prospects one-on-one, making you more at ease with yourself.

If  this sounds good to you, then come join us every two weeks for a light buffet and some great speakers at the Warner Marriott Hotel in Woodland Hills. The Marriott provides a wide variety of excellent meeting rooms for the largest, most active
Toastmasters club in greater Los Angeles.

For professionals on the fast track, Toastmasters is the secret oil that keeps your engine running smoothly, a crucial pit stop in your business life. Warner Center Toastmasters has been enhancing careers and enriching interpersonal communications for our members for over twenty-five years. Why leave great speaking skills to politicians and captains of industry? You too can speak like a pro, and we'll show you how.

marriott hotelIt all comes together in a clearly defined and well-supported program of speeches and exercises that help you to sharpen your verbal skills, organize your words and gestures, and make you fast on your feet. Lose your fear of speaking in front of a large group, and you'll feel more confident speaking to anybody!

The Warner Marriott is located at 21850 Oxnard Street at the corner of Topanga. From Santa Clarita to Calabasas, Santa Monica to Chatsworth, we have active members from all over the area.

We DO meet every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month without fail (except Xmas and Thanksgiving). Greeting begins at 630pm, meeting/program begins promptly at 7pm. Meeting concludes approximately 9pm. Guest fee: five dollars. (To avoid high hotel parking fees, may we suggest you park on the side street behind the hotel or in the Promenade Mall across Oxnard.) This site is updated twice a month with forthcoming meeting details, so check back often.  For details, please contact:

Fellow Toastmasters ~

Warner Center continues to shake up the Toastmasters world with this week's exciting program of speakers and evaluators. We invite you to come see what's going on this Thursday night, when Jojo will be sprouting questions in a topical discussion about "Spring Time", John will helm the evaluation segment, and our speakers meetingHidi Lee, Dalia, Clifton, Dr. Ed, and Carolyn Goldman, will perform at their highest level.

This week's Toastmaster, Chris Babson, hosted WCTM's SpeakUp program at his home last week with the help of an unexpected guest, Chris's well-mannered dog. Arf! There were five speeches from our members, including two from founder Rose Lane.

In other news, we'd like to welcome WCTM's newest member to our group, a very experienced speaker in his own right, Michael Grodotzke!

Pink Lady Jackie Goldberg will be pleased to know that sixteen people from WCTM are going to Pink Lady's "musical follies" on June 4th. Jackie is donating the entire proceeds to the Actor's Fund, an organization in which she is a member. After the evening show, champagne and desserts will be served.

We look forward to seeing all of you down here shaking things up at the Marriott THIS THURSDAY, a mixture of sincerity, mirth, and fine muscle coordination.

warm regards

The Toaster's Choice Staff
