Bickford, Barry, Mayberry Move to Upper Levels of Competition

Bickford, Barry, and Mayberry. It sounds like a prestigious law firm. In fact, these intrepid individuals are the cream of our club, forging ahead to ever higher levels of speech competition. Eric Bickford is competing in the International Speech Contest for WCTM with his richly personal oration, "Let's Talk about Love", and Sue Mayberry for Evaluations in Division A. In Division B, Sue competes in the International Speech Contest for Advanced Speakers of LA with her speech "Baby Steps", and Eva Barry under the mantle of yet another club, with her gripping true tale of surviving in the Phillippines under the military regime of Ferdinand Marcos.

Make your plans now to attend, and enjoy the excitement of competition at the division level. Our contestants will surely appreciate your support. The Division A International Speech and Evaluation Contest "Shine to Make a Difference", will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 4445 Noble Avenue, Sherman Oaks on Saturday, April 12, Gavel at 9am. (contact Doris Einhorn 818-788-0864). The Division B Contest "Lift Your Voice" will  be held at 260 N Pass Avenue, Burbank 91505, Registration 115pm, Gavel at 2pm. (contact division.b@district52.org).

Knock 'em dead, Toastmasters!

FOUNDER'S DISPATCH -- THE ROSE REPORT

Bouquets and Accolades to Susan Mayberry!

Those of you who were fortunate enough to attend our 25th Anniversary Celebration must know how much thought, preparation, time and effort was spent by Susan over several months to make it all happen! This was the best ever celebration for our club -- Extremely fun, exciting and successful.

While our members are loving, there was an abundant outpouring of love and appreciation for our club by everyone there! For members who missed this inspiring, special evening, we would  be remiss if we didn't give Susan bouquets and accolades with our grateful thanks, appreciation and admiration which she so richly deserves.              ~ RL

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Dear Warner Center Toastmasters:

Please join us at our next meeting on Thursday, April 10th.  Our theme is “mentoring.”  Who among us can say we have traveled our journey alone, without counsel, without guidance, without coaching?  I know I can’t!  The many members who have shared their wisdom with me have helped make my communication and leadership journey richer and more fulfilling.

Help thy brother's boat across, and Lo! Thine own has reached the shore

          ~ Hindu quote

At Warner Center Toastmasters we are here to help you succeed.  Enjoy the supportive, creative and friendly environment.  Come find your voice, come find your message and come find your speaking success!         -Susan

Improve your confidence when speaking in front of people!

Toastmasters is dedicated to helping you overcome your fear of public speaking, so why fumble around in the dark with your self-image? Think of your Toastmasters club as a  communications laboratory, a forum for experimentation, a friendly place where it's OK to make mistakes -- in short, a workshop to polish your personal style.

If  this sounds good to you, then come join us for a light buffet and some great speakers at the Warner Marriott Hotel in Woodland Hills. Currently the most popular Toastmasters meeting location in greater Los Angeles, WCTM at the Marriott provides a wide variety of excellent meeting  rooms for one of Los Angeles' finest and largest Toastmasters groups.

Warner Center Toastmasters has been enhancing careers and enriching interpersonal communications for our members for twenty-five years. Why leave great speaking skills to politicians and captains of industry? You too can speak like a pro, and we'll show you how.

It all comes together in a clearly defined and well-supported program of speeches and exercises that help you to sharpen your verbal skills, organize your words and gestures, and make you fast on your feet. Lose your fear of speaking in front of a large group, and you'll feel more confident speaking to anybody!

The Warner Marriott is located at 21850 Oxnard Street at the corner of Topanga. From Santa Clarita to Calabasas, Santa Monica to Chatsworth, we have active members from all over the area.

We DO meet every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month without fail (except Xmas). Meeting begins at 630pm, gavel at 7pm. Meeting concludes approximately 9pm. Guest fee: five dollars.  This site is updated twice a month with forthcoming meeting details, so check back often.  For details, please contact:
