You too can speak like a pro, and we'll show you how! Toastmasters helps you present yourself to others with personality and charisma, so why fumble around in the dark with your self-image? Your Toastmasters club is a communications laboratory, a forum for
experimentation, a friendly place where it's OK to make mistakes -- in
short, a workshop to polish your personal style. Are you afraid of speaking in front of a group? Drop by and pay us a visit -- we'll make it worth your while. Every Toastmaster knows that your fears and nervousness are magnified when you speak before an audience -- precisely the training you need to break down the barriers to reaching new friends and business prospects one-on-one, making you more at ease with yourself. For professionals on the fast track, Toastmasters is the secret oil that keeps your engine running smoothly, a crucial pit stop in your business life. Warner Center Toastmasters has been enhancing careers and enriching interpersonal communications for our members for over twenty-five years. Why leave great speaking skills to politicians and captains of industry? You too can speak like a pro, and we'll show you how. If this sounds good to you, then come join us every two weeks for a light buffet and some great speakers at the Warner Marriott Hotel in Woodland Hills. The Marriott provides a wide variety of excellent meeting rooms for the largest, most active Toastmasters club in Los Angeles or Ventura Counties. ![]() It all comes together in a clearly defined and well-supported program of speeches and exercises that help you to sharpen your verbal skills, organize your words and gestures, and make you fast on your feet. Lose your fear of speaking in front of a large group, and you'll feel more confident speaking to anybody! The Warner Marriott is located at 21850 Oxnard Street at the corner of Topanga. From Santa Clarita to Calabasas, Santa Monica to Chatsworth, we have active members from all over the area. We DO meet every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month without fail (except Xmas and Thanksgiving). Greeting begins at 630pm, meeting/program begins promptly at 7pm. Meeting concludes approximately 9pm. Guest fee: five dollars. (To avoid high hotel parking fees, may we suggest you park on the side street behind the hotel or in the Promenade Mall across Oxnard.) This site is updated twice a month with forthcoming meeting details, so check back often. For details, please contact:

Fellow Toastmasters ~ As the Stomach Churns -- Speech competitions can be nerve racking, but they hone our Toastmasters skills to a very fine edge indeed. This Thursday, "It's an honor to be asked by JoJo and Audrey to chair this event," remarked Dalia. "I expect that my fellow Toastmasters will make me smile and hopefully laugh, too." Some years it's table topics and evaluations, other years it's tall tales plus evaluations. This year, WCTM is holding a Humorous Speeches and Evaluations Contest, with winners to move up to the high level Area and District Contests. Club members vote on speech performances based on a number of selected criteria, such as organization, word usage, relevance, gestures, and so on. WCTM has 8 contestants throwing their hat into the ring this year for the humorous speech challenge, the largest group in our club ever to vie for the title, and 5 evaluators will take a critical look at Hidi Lee's sample speech, so this promises to be a whale of a contest! Carolyn and Susan Pepsin will be managing the ballots. We invite the public and our members to come and sample the wry wit and implacable irony of our bumper crop of competitive speakers! see you Thursday! yours the Toaster's Choice Staff
